This article shows how to add an option in to the file explorer Shell new menu to create a new BBC BASIC for Windows program file.
To do this manually run the registry editor and navigate to:
Create a new key called 'ShellNew'.
In the right pane add a new binary value called 'Data' with the contents:
04 00 00 0D 00 FF FF
If you are not confident editing the registry copy the block of text (below) which represents the registry settings for your operating system, paste it to a new text file and save it as AddShellNew.reg. To add the registry keys stored in this file to your registry double-click on the file; answer yes when asked for confirmation to add the information to the registry. You may need administrator privileges to make changes to your registry. Remember to backup your registry before making changes.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
The registry settings for Windows 95, 98 and ME are:
